Ingredients:

  • 1 winter cabbage,
  • 1 kg potatoes,
  • 4 strips of fatty bacon;
  • 2 large cloves of garlic,
  • olive oil,
  • lard
  • salt.

Preparation:

Boil the water with a little salt and add the cleaned and chopped cabbage and the peeled potatoes. Leave to boil for 30 minutes. Strain off the water and then finely chop the cabbage and potatoes and then mix them together.

Put a little olive oil and lard in a pan and fry the peeled garlic. Then remove it and fry the fatty bacon. Add a little of the resulting oil to the cabbage and potato and then mix them together well.  Finally, add the mixture of potato and cabbage to the rest of the oil in the pan and cook until everything is well fried on both sides. Serve with a rasher of bacon.
